The impressive tomahawk ribeye is a bone-in rib steak with the bone left long. With the meat left at full rib thickness, these steaks are full of flavorful juicy yum! Many people are intimidated when it comes to cooking a tomahawk ribeye. No reason for that! Here’s our favorite way to cook a tomahawk ribeye:
- Preheat smokes to 350 degrees.
- Season steak(s) just the way you like them. We like Ugly Stew’s Grit 44.
- Place steaks on hot smoker grill for 20 min.
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- Heat 1 stick of butter in a pan over high heat with 2c mushrooms sliced. Sauté until mushrooms are nicely coated in butter. Place in hot oven to finish.
- Flip steaks. Smoke another 20 min.
- Top steaks with sautéed mushrooms.
- Enjoy
Tip: Leftover tomahawks make amazing sliced steak and mushroom omelets for breakfast!
